It's exhausting keeping up with all the spoofs and parodies of Brokeback Mountain that keep coming from Hollywood and the porn industry. Not in recent times has porn been so able to take the title of a Hollywood film and turn it into something naughty, obvious and at times hilarious. While using Brokeback Mountain as a theme isn't very original, don't be so quick to turn away from Buckback Mountain, a genuine and one-of-a-kind film.
In it, Lobo plays Ennis del Wood and Buck Angel plays a rugged cowboy named Buck Angel. As in the Hollywood version, the two are looking for a job, and each has an eye on the other in a libidinous way. This version has a twist. Instead of two men falling for each other, it's one man and Angel, the 2007 AVN Awards Transsexual Performer of the Year, who below the waist has a pussy.
I loved the way his pussy was presented. The guys are out on the desert range, and following a drunken night, they give in to their desires by making out like fiends and Angel suck Lobo's impressive cock. When Lobo goes down on Angel, he pulls down his jeans, and instead of going all Forrest Whitaker in The Crying Game, he happily laps at Angel's pussy. At one point it seems Angel can't pull him off his engorged clit. After licking, lapping and sucking on it, Lobo pounds Angel's pussy likes it's the last he'll ever have. In one of the best shots, we see Lobo's muscular brown booty bouncing up and down, while at the same time his fat cock stretches Angel's twat.
Aside from the mind-blowing sex, the film is an awesome and ambitious piece of work that is so engaging it piques viewers' curiosity, and at the same time you can't take your eyes off of it. Much of the curiosity will be aimed toward Angel and his genitalia, but I also wondered how director Lawrence Roberts would make this story fresh. The models do a fantastic job of acting. They don't turn the story into camp, nor are they overdramatic. They actually have emotion and deliver dialogue like pros.
Then there are the production values. When boss Mylo Deren brings Angel back to his office, the blue skies and scrub brush of the Joshua Tree desert are somewhat overexposed, but for the most part, the videography is stellar. It's as if you were watching a big budget Hollywood film. Then there's Jer Ber Jones' soundtrack, which is subtle, stoic and during actual intercourse is hip and catchy. There's also an original song by Dudley Saunders called "I Come With Three Wounds." The song is a haunting ballad that tells a back story of a main character, but doesn't blatantly say which one. Listen closely, because it may actually be about both characters.
Luckily, the story strays from tragedy and fast-forwards to 10 years later when Lobo and Angel reunite in a sizzling finale of cock and clit sucking, dildo play, and Lobo once again fucking Angel relentlessly.
Overall, Buckback Mountain is one of the most engaging, well-acted, hottest and memorable films of the year. Angel's enthusiasm for cock is bar none. In his wildly hot flashback with Sean Steele, I love the way Angel growls and moans when Steele smacks his thick, uncut rod against his pussy lips. It's nice to see Angel's moans of pleasure and watch his eyes roll into the back of his head when Steel eats his pussy, then fucks him (there is only vaginal sex in this film). It's not every day I see a receiver authentically appreciate good dick on film.
The DVD has a photo gallery and behind-the-scenes footage.
