With Knockout, Falcon has brought back the Falcon International Collection, which has been on hiatus for about four years. This line of titles was inaugurated masterfully by George Duroy in 1993; Duroy would eventually direct nine of the first 10 FIC titles before starting his own studio, Bel Ami.
Bringing in director Tom Bradford to helm the new Falcon International line may have been a stroke of genius. Bradford is a brilliant filmmaker whose work I have praised lavishly over the years. He's a "big picture" director whose films have many of the qualities of theatrical films, including character development, cinematography that captures both the forest and the trees, so to speak, and terrific music scores.
Speaking of Bel Ami, model Tim Hamilton's come-hither photo on the Knockout DVD cover should have potential viewers lined up in the aisles — virtual or actual. Hamilton looks sensational and has really bulked up since his award-winning turn in Greek Holiday. He's in two scenes in Knockout, but — alas — not as a bottom.
The story is narrated in voice-over by Juan Rivero. He's a top boxer in his home country, Brazil, who is visiting Hungary to learn the styles of boxers there. Juan's hosts are Eric (Solten Talton) and Adam (Andrew Moretti), two fellow boxers. Eric's and Adam's relationship is hugely strained by the fact that the previous year Eric KO'd Adam in a competition, leaving Adam ineligible to compete in many prestigious matches.
Bradford uses split-screen imagery to advance two or three story threads at once. The cogent narration keeps it from becoming confusing, though the narrator's accent is sometimes difficult to understand. For the sex scenes, there's only one screen image.
There's nearly 12 minutes of credits and story set-up, which may leave some viewers fidgeting over their remotes. Milan (Buck Monroe), a boxer from Serbia, is driven by his libido, so the sex begins when he initiates a three-way with Adam, fresh from the shower, and Juan. Milan is the bottom in this scene, which begins with kissing and all-around sucking and ends with Milan getting fucked by both Juan and Adam, who swap back and forth in multiple positions.
The one Milan really has his eye on is Tim, whom the narrator calls boy-Czech. Tim's seeming lack of interest leaves Milan wondering if he's straight or asexual, but Milan doesn't know what goes on in the gym when he's not there. The training room orgy, in which Tim is joined by Enrico Tarantino, Jack Wright, Mario McCabe, Rod Stevens, and Viktor Kinski (many of whom perform under more familiar screen names), was disappointing. This orgy is staged partly as two three-ways and partly as three duos, but at no time is there any activity that two guys can't do by themselves. No sucking circles, no rimming chains (no rimming at all), no guy sucking two cocks at once, no two guys teaming up to work on one cock together. And once they pair off to fuck, they don't change positions or partners for the rest of the scene.
Adam moonlights as a bartender, but that evening at work, Eric comes in and announces that he's quitting the team. Juan and Milan are there when it happens, but a flare-up is avoided when Tim arrives and Milan makes his move. I've already said that Hamilton looks magnificent; you could say, he's a knockout. In the six-man orgy the camera had a lot of other guys to look at, but here with only one other model on the set, the camera really has time to do justice to Tim's stellar attributes.
Adam insists on having a rematch with Eric before he quits, and Eric agrees. Adam wins (maybe Eric let him win) which gives Juan an opportunity to offer TLC to Eric, who is the one he has wanted all along. They tangle on the couch to end the film, starting with a hot make-out session in their tighty whities. This is the only scene with any rimming, and it is mutual. Juan bottoms this time, and we get a better chance to observe what a great ass he has.
The DVD has a behind-the-scenes feature, Web link, and trailers for three other FIC titles.
