If you've seen Falcon's Spokes, you're bound to have a flashback while watching Bel Ami's Mating Season. Josh Elliot and six of his buddies are out for a sunny ride through the countryside, looking for a place to "bonk," as they call it.
    Almost enjoyable as the sex is the sight of these trim lads in their biking outfits, straining their muscles against the pedals of their machines as they urge them up hills and across grassy fields. While riding, they spot two fellows who emerge like a mirage from a grain field, almost blindingly beautiful as they march arm-in-arm towards their destination.
    The youths are Hans Klee and Bolek Polanski, and their destination is a huge, deserted barn where they intend to fuck. They get there before the bicyclists, disappointing Josh and his cohorts, who hoped to use the barn for their own planned revelry. But the bikers gallantly leave Hans and Boley to their sport. An overly playful dog gets into the scene, but is whisked away before anything that's possibly illegal happens.
    Johnny Surabaya and Henri Gaudin part company with Josh et al., and set off on their own. We'll catch up with them later. Meanwhile, Josh, accompanied by Troy Allen, Luke Hamill, Benjamin Bloom and Davy Paxton keeps riding until he spots a crumbling villa.
    It's the perfect place to bonk, and despite its state of disrepair, there's new, clean and comfortable furniture to fuck on. Josh, Troy and Luke climb a wide, tiled staircase that must have been splendid in its heyday, finding a wide couch on the landing. They play rock-scissors-paper to determine sex roles: it's paper for Troy and scissors for Josh and Luke, so Troy's the bottom. They kiss, strip, suck and fuck, with Josh adding a bit of rimming — something you won't see much of in this film.
    Downstairs, Davy and Benjamin, sporting pink high-tops and a matching baseball cap, find a shady alcove with a comfortable chair. Davy's dark hair contrasts vividly with his blue eyes, which look even dreamier when he bats them at Benjamin while his mouth is stuffed with Benjamin's cock. The wrestling singlet is hot, too. They fuck on the chair, with Davy topping and Benjamin making all the right noises.
    The two boys who set off by themselves, Johnny and Henri, find an open-air lunch shop that serves country sandwiches and beer. The daily special, which is not on the menu, is a free blow job in the rustic outdoor men's room, courtesy of Joey Amis.
    Joey is offering his services to all takers, and once word gets out, he ends up sucking every guy there. There are 10 of 'em: in addition to Johnny and Henri, he sucks Roman Prada, Manuel Rios, Colin Reeves, Eli Rogers, Ruslan Brodovich, Alexei Zagorin and Hans Kaas. It's a scene the likes of which you've never seen from Bel Ami, with Joey all smiles as he gobbles up load after load, licking his lips to catch every drop. Joey counts coup by carving a notch in a tree for every load he swallows.
    Shop owner Steve Jennings waits until everyone leaves, then visits Joey for his turn, but he tells him that a blow job is not enough, and Steve fucks him, too.
    Everyone gets to play on this lovely day. Thierry Aulin and Renato Amoroso, who are working their tractor in the fields, take a sex break, with Renato fucking Thierry.
    The seven bikers reunite for the ride home, checking out the barn again and finding it empty. So they can have their bonk in the hay, after all. They regroup in twos and threes: Josh with Davy, Troy with Johnny, and Henri with Benjamin and Luke. Troy bottoms again; Davy bottoms for Josh, and Henri bottoms for Luke, with Benjamin's participation oral only.
    With kudos going to director Marty Stevens, Bel Ami truly breaks new sexual ground in Mating Season with the lunch scene, elevating the film into Scorched Shirt territory. The huge cast, with their guileless smiles, flickering tongues, rampant erections and boundless energy will bring you many more hours of enjoyment than the film's generous two-hour, 12-minute running time.
